Project Status: Indefinite Hiatus
This website is the home of my supernatural wlw romance series From on High.
In addition to being the change I want to see in the world, the secondary purpose of this project is to hone my screenwriting skills. To this end, the story of From on High will be presented through episodic, plain text screenplays that use Fountain for syntax, in order to maintain consistent and distinguished formatting.
Cody has a shitty job and a long commute, with no time to recharge. It would at least be manageable if she had some kind of support system (she doesn't). Well, that's all about to change with the arrival of Ariel: Cody's fated guardian angel! Armed with nothing but a can-do attitude and a little celestial magic, Ariel is determined to give Cody the life she deserves — and maybe also a very affectionate roommate.
An intimate and vulnerable tale of a quickly ripening romance, From on High aims to deliver engaging plotlines and fleshed out characters who learn to love themselves as well as each other.
Five "seasons" (consisting of seven full-length episodes each) are planned out for this series, with seasons two through five focusing on our heavenly couple's post-union relationship dynamics, their growth as individuals, and their interactions with some characters that we'll get to meet later on as the story progresses.
Once live, the project status of From on High will alternate between two states:
1. Writing, in which the currently slated episode is being written, and
2. Preproduction, in which the next slated episode is being planned out.
When in the writing stage, From on High will be updated each Monday morning with the progress I was able to make on the slated episode in the previous week — right now I'm promising at least two scenes worth of writing per update. I can't tell at this point how long it will take for me to write a single episode, let alone an entire series, so I figure this method of publishing will be the best way to proceed for the time being.
After the final update of a given episode is uploaded, the preproduction period for the next episode will begin, and last for one month. After that, the writing stage will proceed as previously explained. Inter-season preproduction periods may last longer; I'll make sure to note any sheduling updates or deviations in the "Project Status" section at the top of the page.
